چکیده:

Introduction: The purpose of this study was to compare the spinal alignment and sport injuries in freestyle and Greco-roman wrestlers and to investigate the relationship between neck pain and craniovertebral angle and also the relationship between low back pain and lumbosacral angle.Material and Methods: The data regarding the wrestling injuries were collected from 200 randomly selected professional wrestlers (age 24.5 ± 2 Years, weight 75.24 ± 10.45 Kg, height 176.85 ± 3.4 Cm) , 100 freestyle and 100 Greco-Roman wrestlers . In addition the cranio-vertebral angle was assessed in 30 wrestlers who suffered from neck pain and 30 wrestlers without neck pain in order to investigate the relationship between forward head and the neck pain. The lumbosacral angle of 30 wrestlers who suffered from low back pain and 30 wrestlers without low back pain was also assessed in order to examine the relationship between lumbosacral angle and low back pain. Results: The results of this analysis show that there is a statically significant difference between free style and Greco-roman wrestlers’ injuries (p=0.05). There is also a statically significant relationship between craniovertebral angle and neck pain in wrestlers. (P=0.013). However, no statically significant relationship was observed between lumbosacral angle and low back pain (P>0.05).Discussion and Conclusion: In brief free style wrestlers suffer from more injuries compared to the Greco-roman wrestlers, and in wrestlers with forward head were more susceptible to neck pain. It seems that the difference in craniovertebral angle in Greco-Roman and freestyle wrestlers is the result of different guarding style and technique in these groups.

"Discussion and Conclusion: In brief free style wrestlers suffer from more injuries compared to the Greco-roman wrestlers, and in wrestlers with forward head were more susceptible to neck pain. As time passes these sport gestures may cause reformations in the trunks of the athletes [5] and losing a good posture means dipping in stability and mal alignment of the whole body and making that part vulnerable to further injuries Hereby the role of the spine is really important. As in the G-r wrestling, the wrestlers are not allowed to use their legs in order to attach or defend, they tend to apply more frequent throwing techniques and as a result the upper parts of their bodies are more vulnerable to injuries. [9] The results of the present study showed that there is a significant relationship between the wrestlers’ neck pain and their craniovertebral angle (P=0."
